Visit Philadelphia Surprised Rittenhouse Meals and Restaurant Workers for Valentine’s Day

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – The cutest place to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Philadelphia is perhaps just 18th Street in Rittenhouse Square.

Visit Philadelphia with restaurants and hotels to decorate a stretch of street with 5,000 pink and red balloons.

“We love love, and we get to know each other just like every day,” said Chris White of South Philadelphia.

White said he got style points for taking his fiancée Simona to Sunday brunch.

“It’s beautiful. We just drove by and she was like ‘Wow! We’re going there!’ And I said, ‘Yeah, we’re going there,’ White said.

The setup is a city-wide collaboration.

‘I just wanted it to be hot, hot; it freezes outside, let’s roast it, keep it sexy, ‘said Madisun Morgan, who owns Maple Street Modern Design, and set up the balloons.

The design company has partnered with Visit Philadelphia, restaurants and hotels to encourage people to dine out.

“We really want to do everything we can to give people the opportunity to work again and also to inspire people who stay at home for a year to go out and start traveling again,” said Cara Bongiorno of Visit Philadelphia said.

As an added surprise, Visit Philadelphia also gave away 100 packages from Visit Philly Overnight Hotel to some meals and restaurant workers.

The package includes a free night in a hotel, parking and buy-one-get-one attraction tickets.

“Every day was a little harder with the outdoor dining room, with the heaters, the tables. Every little thing was just a little harder. Something like that puts a smile on our face. It’s good,” David Montague said. . the general manager of Bar Bombon.

It has been a devastating year for the service and hospitality industry, but by showing brotherly love to one another, they hope to succeed.

“It’s so nice. It’s just nice to see a hint of color on a gloomy day,” said Olivia Christian of Langhorne.

In addition to the 100 surprise packages being given away at Rittenhouse on Valentine’s Day, Visit Philadelphia says it will offer even more on its website. Entries will be accepted until February 28th.
