The Vikings have chosen not to offer Chris Jones the exclusive rights agent, Chris Jones, which leaves him free to join any team, Chris Tomasson of St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Minnesota claimed Jones from the waiver in October, and the cornerback played eight games for the club in 2020, starting three. He finishes with 19 tackles and plays a total of 25 percent of the Vikings’ defensive snaps.

“I am blessed and grateful for the opportunity that the Vikings gave me honestly because they did not have either. I am eternally grateful, ”Jones said via Tomasson. ‘Last year it was not what I was hoping for, but it was all and I excited for the future. ”

Jones entered the league in 2018 as an unknown free agent from Nebraska and signed with the Lions. When they cut him at the end of the preseason, he went to the Cardinals and was at Arizona training camp by the end of 2020. Jones was claimed by Detroit and appeared in one game for the club in 2020.

In 22 career games, Jones defended six passes.
