Video captures the moment when grandma chases, grabs purse and hits him on the ground before taking her bag back

The video was captured at the moment when a heroic grandmother chased a prospective thief after he allegedly tried to snatch her purse from a table outside where the woman was at the table.

The woman was allegedly busy with her own affairs when the suspect approached her table, took her purse and fled the scene on foot.

He did not get far.

What are the details?

According to Australia’s Seven News, the incident took place outside the Pimpama Tavern on Australia’s Gold Coast on January 19.

Surveillance footage was captured the moment the woman took off her shoes, chased the prospective thief and grabbed him on the ground after grabbing her purse from the table and taking off.

As the wrestling off the sidewalk spills the road, the woman, who was later identified from Upper Coomera, can be seen placing a man in a head guard before pulling her suitcase back and leaving the scene.

The suspect then climbs into a white truck and leaves the scene.

The woman, who did not have a birthday, suffered cracked ribs, cuts and bruises as a result of the altercation.

Out of 60 reported that the woman is a grandmother of at least ten grandchildren.

Queensland police were able to locate the suspect and arrest him on charges of robbery.

The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday that the suspect has been identified as Troy Charles Bennett.

Bennett appeared in court on Wednesday, where he allegedly hid for more than an hour in the toilets at the courthouse before showing up with a coronavirus mask and sunglasses.

“He was trying to hide behind two prosecutors when they left court despite their attempts to stay away from cameras,” the office said. “Bennett ran into the Mal Burke parking lot across from the courthouse.”
