The video above is from the House Chamber balcony. It shows U.S. Capitol officers on the floor in an absence with an armed mob outside the room door Wednesday afternoon.
Among those on the balcony is Washington State Representative Pramila Jayapal. Halfway through the video, one of the Housemates begins to pray.
Shortly after the invasion, President Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to occupy the American Capitol to “remain peaceful,” but he did not ask them to part ways. Trump held a rally earlier Wednesday in which he reiterated his false claims that President-elect Joe Biden won the election through voter fraud.
He urged his supporters to march to the Capitol, saying they “need to get rid of the weak Congressmen” and said: “let the weak get away; it is time for strength.”
