There was a time when Sega made a significant effort to preserve their legendary titles, which would enable new fans to experience games, even if they were ahead. Fast forward to today’s time, and it seems the company is only interested in releasing Sonic 1 & 2 again on every conceivable platform (but not the cool widescreen port).
We’ve had several console generations without preserving properly for this franchise, and some titles like the Sonic Pocket Adventure of the Neo Geo Pocket Color have never received a reissue of any kind. This is what we want to look at today – Sonic titles that are at least 15 years old and locked on their original hardware.
We also not only emphasize an old game, it must be legally fantastic, an important part of the history of the franchise, or have the potential to improve with modern hardware. (Sorry Sonic’s Schoolhouse, maybe next time)
Have you played all the games in this video and are there others you would like to see released again?
