GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – Vidant Health tightens restrictions for visitors due to increased distribution of COVID-19.
The hospital system says that the positivity rates for those tested have gradually increased since Thanksgiving, and it is now around 22%.
Vidant Roanoke-Chowan bans visitors in both the emergency department and inpatient units, while Outer Banks Hospital will begin it on Monday.
Other Vidant hospitals have the following restrictions from Monday at 05:00:

Sibling visits are not currently allowed; the health care team will work with families to facilitate virtual sibling visits, as appropriate. For pediatric palliative or end-of-life care, additional visits will be considered with the approval of the leadership based on the needs of the child. |

Vidant says that all visitors will have to undergo a selection process and must meet requirements such as wearing a mask, entering handwashing and maintaining social distance.
