GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – People hoping to get the COVID-19 vaccine at the Greenville Convention Center when the vaccination site opens next week can schedule their appointment early and early Friday.
Vidant Health says community members may be eligible to start Friday at 8 p.m.
When the scheduling opens, you can see the availability of appointments by clicking here or logging in to your MyChart account here.
Vidant recommends that you use the method, but if you can not, you can call 252-847-8000.
The website opens Monday.
We are told that the majority of the appointment slots in the initial phase of vaccinations for more than 8,000 people will be on the waiting list of the Department of Health in Pitt. Those on the list will be contacted by phone or email in the coming days and weeks.
According to the hospital system, the vaccination center will be open seven days a week and the goal is to vaccinate 4,000 people a week.
The site will not be able to accept drive-in or drive-in vaccinations.
At present, anyone 65 years and older as well as health workers can be vaccinated.
