Cosmetics in Valorant are plentiful and it only gets better the more Radianite Points (RP) you bring in. Raising guns can be difficult, but there are a few ways to speed up the process of starting to add flair to your arsenal.
Riot is constantly adding diverse and unexpected skin collections to Valorant. Just as premium as they are, a bag full of RP can take your weapon skins to another level of polishing.
Unfortunately, there are only a few ways to get RP in Valorant. As such, the pursuit of the coveted currency amounts to purchasing Valorant Points (VP) or honing the Battle Pass in every law to maximize your earnings.
To really correct the math about how much RP you need to quickly upgrade a gun, you need to know how much it will take to complete one weapon completely. This is where we come in!

Why do I want to level my guns?
If you pump RP into one gun, you will unlock exotic effects for the skins you have already purchased, giving your weapons even more flair.
Finishes, variants and even special animations are available for some rifle collections in Valorant that blow the standard style out of the water.
It’s a great way to address your enemies and show how committed you are to living the Valorant lifestyle.
How do I level my guns?
To start the leveling process, navigate to the ‘Collection’ tab at the top of Valorant’s main menu. You see all your weapons laid out.
Unfortunately, not all weapons can be created equal, but you can easily see what it does by cycling through the cosmetics and see which panel RP can shell out for upgrades.
Level 1 is the base sheet, and from there you have the option to spend 10 RP to go to Level 2 VFX, Level 3 animation and finally Level 4 Finisher, before unlocking the color variations.
You can spend RP on some Valorant collections to give them more feel.
How much RP is needed to upgrade Valorant rifles?
Each level for a gun costs even 10 RP. The base level gives you a simple VFX upgrade that will shoot up your weapon’s skin and unlock the next level above.
The second and third levels offer animations and a finish, which increases the total cost of lifting the gun to 30 RP. But once you reach this stage, you get the chance to buy one of them for 15 RP per piece if the skin in question has color variations.
If we take it all together, each weapon in Valorant takes 30 RP to stand up completely, but 75 RP in total if we also want to include the three different variants.
How to increase your RP: Buy VP
Let’s get rid of the ugly truth: if you want to upgrade your guns quickly, you’ll have to spend money on Valorant. The conversion distribution for VP in RP is:
- 1600VP for 20 RP
- 2800 VP for 40 RP
- 4800 VP for 80 RP
At the moment it costs about $ 20 USD to get 2050 VP, which gives you barely enough to convert it to 20 RP, i.e. two gun levels or one color variant.
If we keep going up the ladder, that means you have to purchase a pack of VP of $ 20 and $ 10 USD to get barely 40 RP, so you are missing about 35 RP before completing one gun.
You can convert VP to RP that can be used to quickly upgrade Valorant weapon skins.
How to increase your RP: Battlepass
Buying your RP is not a fun option, so a cheaper way would be to grind through the Battle Pass, which costs 1000 VP or $ 10 USD. Then the long grind begins to complete your progress through the season.
Once you complete the Battle Pass, you must have 150 RP to play with. Going back to our previous calculations, that means you can quickly pick up two different weapons quickly.
Since Riot has only introduced first-class cosmetics to weapons and not agents or other accessories, your efforts can help expand your weapons collection.
While there is plenty of room for improvement in the system to reward more RP in Valorant, the pace and use of your currencies will be fully utilized to increase your arsenal.
So these are the two most important ways to upgrade your guns quickly. While the first is just an option for the big spend, the second is a very easy way to get you amazing new cosmetics. Not only that, it means you’ll be playing more Valorant, and what could be worse?
