Valheim plaster prepares for missing tombstone

Viking survival game Valheim has quite a moment. The early access adventure managed to sell more than 2 million copies in the first two weeks, meaning more than 2 million Vikings find and report bugs. Valheim today released a new patch to solve some such problems, including disappearing tombstones and deadly phantom hearths.

Valheim’s update 0.145.6 is available today. This is a relatively short list of great solutions, but solves some possible problems.

One is ‘extra tombstone control (to prevent it from disappearing)’ which refers to the place where your loot will be stored when you die. Like other survival craft, Valheim lets you retreat to the place where you died to retrieve your belongings. Players on reported that their tombstones had disappeared and all the equipment attached to them.

Another solution on the list is ‘smoking cessation smoking solution’. This seems to be related to the issue that players have reported with zealous fireplaces in build mode. As Ollie explains in our Valheim building tips, smoke can build up in buildings if you do not let it out properly, which will damage your character. It makes enough sense. What makes less sense is that this can happen with a fireplace you are trying to build but have not yet installed. The phantom fireplace can smoke your home before it even exists.

I have not jumped in Valheim yet, but I know I will be an avid builder if I do, and indecisive about it. I can absolutely see myself tumbling as I scratch my head over the perfect fireplace. Ta to fix it before I arrive, Iron Gate.

You can include the rest of the solutions in Valheim’s sticky notes, including various storage changes.

Once the hearth problem is sorted out, you can get back to work with your base. Read RPS’s Valheim tips for advice on how to get started.

Valheim is available early on Steam, where Iron Gate plans to develop for at least another year.
