Valheim Craft Progress Guide
The way this progress guide for Valheim’s artwork works is by giving a list of the core components you need to find to unlock all the manufactured items and objects in the game. Follow our explanation of how to get to each one, and you will slowly drive through Valheim and take down the bosses as you go. Valheim has countless resources and materials to continue upgrading your equipment, but this list is a common way to track the game.
1. Wood
The first thing is easy; wood. Once you spawn in Valheim, you want to punch the small trees and collect wood, which you can make, but not limited to:
- Workbench
- Walls and roofs
- Club
- Hammer
- Chest
2. Clip
This goes without saying, but make sure, along with the punching of trees at the start of the game, you also pick up loose stones. This allows you to unlock different stone tools.
3. Flint
Flint is another key ingredient that you can get early. It runs along the beaches on the ground, so just run to the nearest coast and pick up as much as possible. It gives you more weapons and tools.

4. Leather waste / deer
Both Leather Scraps and Deer Hide come under the same head because the two go hand in hand. You get it by killing pigs and deer, respectively, and it is essential to manufacture early game weapons, armor, tools and more.
5. Bronze
Bronze is made by melting copper and tin ores, and then combining the blocks at a rate of two copper to one can. This is what you need for all bronze weapons and armor, along with the all-important cultivator used for farming. You can only start mining copper and tin once you have defeated Eikthyr, the first boss.

6. Core / fine wood
Core wood can be found exclusively from Pine Trees in the Black Forest, while Fine Wood is found exclusively from birch and oak trees in Meadows. Both are used for important buildings and tools, including portals.

7. Iron
Scrap iron can be found in Muddy Scrap Piles in the Swamp Biome. This is where you have to head to after defeating the second boss, The Elder. Melt it to make Iron, which is a step above Bronze, and which is used for all kinds of weapons, armor and tools.

8. Silver
After defeating Bone Mass in the swamp, go to the mountains, where you can mine Silver Ore with an iron pickaxe. Melt it to get Silver, which is a step up on Iron, and which is needed for much better equipment.

After killing Moder in the mountains, you can go to the Plains Biome and kill Fulings to get Black Metal Scrap. If you melt it in a blast furnace, you get Black Metal Bars, which at this stage are the strongest material in the game. Although it is an early access game with more areas and biomes on the way, it may change at any time with future updates. Again, it is mainly used for weapons, tools and armaments.
