Vaccine milestone COVID-19 from ‘shots in the arm’, completion of vaccine range likely to be reached early this week

MADISON, WIS (WBAY) – Wisconsin is still diving closer to the two million milestone “shots in the arm”, as well as 700,000 people completing the vaccine range in the state.

According to the Department of Health Services (DHS), the state has administered another 32,182 shots in the arm since Saturday’s report, bringing the total number of vaccines to 1,994,341. The number is for Wisconsin residents as well as non-residents.

The state currently achieves an average of 39,670 doses per day, meaning Wisconsin could reach the two million total ‘shots in the arm’ on Monday.

Meanwhile, the DHS says that another 11,275 people have completed the vaccine series since Saturday, bringing the total total amount to 698,915, or 12.1% of the state’s population authorized to receive the vaccine. The state’s average of seven days for the number of people completing the vaccine range per day is 15,886, which means that the state can already reach the 700,000 milestone on Monday.

A total of 1,251,433 doses of vaccine were administered to residents of Wisconsin alone, accounting for 21.5% of the population. The figure has increased by 20,341 in the last 24 hours. The seven-day average doses administered to Wisconsin residents only are 25,034.

The population of Wisconsin is 5,822 million people.

According to the DHS, a total of 267,474 vaccine doses were given to Wisconsin residents during the week of March 7, but health officials believe that number could vary.

Vaccination numbers are expected to increase rapidly during the spring, as two million people with medical conditions will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from March 29. CDC MEETING GUIDANCE

The Centers for Disease Control has announced that fully vaccinated Americans can contract indoors with other vaccinated individuals without wearing a mask or social clearance.

The CDC’s recommendations also state that vaccinated can be treated in the same way – in a single household – with people who consider the low risk of serious diseases, as in the case of vaccinated grandparents who visit healthy children and grandchildren.

The CDC goes on to recommend that fully vaccinated people should still wear well-fitting masks, avoid large gatherings, and physically distance themselves from others when in public. The CDC also advised vaccinated people to be tested if they develop COVID-19-related symptoms.

Symptoms

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified these as possible symptoms of COVID-19:

  • Fever of 100.4 or higher
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Cold Fever
  • Repeat shaking with chills
  • Muscle aches
  • Headache
  • Keelseer
  • New loss of taste or smell
