MADISON, Wis. UW Health reminds Wisconsin residents to continue wearing face masks even after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.
The Centers for Disease Control recently announced that those who are fully vaccinated can congregate indoors without a mask, but must wear it in a hospital or public setting. Officials also said those who have been fully vaccinated should also continue to adhere to their local public health measures. A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the final dose.
YOUR Health Doctors recommend wearing a mask when visiting a hospital or clinic for an appointment, going to the grocery store, visiting family outside your household, or interacting with people outside your “bubble.”
“We all want to end this pandemic as soon as possible, but until we are all fully vaccinated, we must consider the threat for now as very real,” said Dr Jeff Pothof, chief executive of UW Health. ‘Vaccinations are the best tool to get us out of this mess, but the public health measures we all know will help speed up this process and speed up the end of this pandemic, especially with a mask. “
