Utah reports 487 more COVID-19 cases, nine more deaths Tuesday

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Department’s COVID-19 report for Tuesday shows an increase of 487 confirmed cases – bringing the state’s total to 371,979 – and nine more deaths.

So far, 2,214,506 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The running average of 7 days for positive tests is 603 per day. The 7-day moving average for percentage positivity of “people above people” is 10.5%. The 7-day moving average for percentage positivity of ‘tests above tests’ is 4.9%.

A total of 741,297 vaccines have now been administered in Utah.

213 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

1,499 people in Utah died from COVID-19. The nine deaths announced on Tuesday are:

  1. Male, over 85 years old, resident of Utah County, resident for long term care
  2. Female, over 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care resident
  3. Female, aged 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at death
  4. Man, aged 65-84, resident of Tooele Province, hospitalized at death
  5. Female, aged 45-64, resident of Weber County, hospitalized at death
  6. Man, aged 65-84, resident of Davis County, not admitted to hospital at death
  7. Man, aged 65-84, resident of Washington County, hospitalized at death
  8. Man, aged 65-84, Utah County resident, hospitalized at death
  9. Man, aged 45-64, resident of Summit County, hospitalized at death

Two of the deaths reported Tuesday occurred before Feb. 9.
