Utah reports 444 COVID-19 cases, 1.65 million vaccine doses administered

The COVID-19 report from Utah’s Department of Health for Friday shows an increase of 444 confirmed cases – bringing the state’s total to 389,353 – and nine more deaths.

A total of 1,650,850 vaccines have now been administered in Utah.

So far, 2,436,569 people in Utah have been tested for the disease. The state average for 7 days for positive tests is 402 per day. The running average of 7 days for percentage positivity of “people above people” is 7%. The average 7-day average percentage positivity of ‘tests above tests’ is 3.4%.

140 people in Utah are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

2157 people in Utah died from COVID-19. The nine deaths announced on Friday are:

  1. Female, aged 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care resident
  2. Female, over 85, Salt Lake County resident, long-term care resident
  3. Female, aged 65-84, resident of Weber County, resident of long-term care
  4. Male, over 85 years old, resident of Davis County, resident for long term care
  5. Female, over 85, resident of Davis County, long term resident
  6. Female, aged 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at death
  7. Male, over 85, resident of Cache County, not admitted to hospital at death
  8. Male, over 85, Salt Lake County resident, not hospitalized at death
  9. Male, aged 65-84, resident of Salt Lake County, not admitted to hospital at death

Eight of the nine new deaths occurred before March 18, 2021.
One death reported earlier on February 21, 2021, was revoked (female between 65-84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death).
