The number of daily COVID-19 cases in Utah reached its lowest level since Sept. 9, and only one new death was reported Monday.

The average of seven days of the vaccine dose in arms rose slightly on Sunday after declining for most of the week. The average Sunday was 12,411 doses administered per day – compared to the 11,937 average on Saturday, but well below the 15,723 average on 14 February.

One of the reasons for last week’s deterioration, a Utah Department of Health spokeswoman said Monday that a 36,000-dose load of the Moderna vaccine that the state would expect last week was not due to the bad again in the east. Doses are expected to arrive in Utah on Monday or Tuesday, the spokesman said.
