With nearly 20 percent of the U.S. population fully vaccinated, U.S. states are making it easier than ever to get the Covid-19 vaccine. Biden has instructed countries to increase vaccine admission for people 18 years and older by April 19, two weeks earlier than the deadline he had previously announced. Many states now encourage everyone to take the vaccine, including undocumented Americans and state visitors.
The Department of Homeland Security has issued an official statement saying it fully supports equal access to the COVID-19 vaccines and the distribution of vaccines to immigrants without documents.
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will not conduct enforcement actions at or near the distribution of vaccines or clinics.”
This allows undocumented immigrants to receive the Covid-19 vaccine without having to worry about being deported.
Here are the US states that require no proof of residence to get the Covid-19 vaccine. Some provinces may restrict vaccines to the resident of the country, so consult your vaccination center / clinic which you should take with you.

US States not requiring accommodation for the Covid-19 vaccine
Alabama
Alabama is now vaccinating all adults 16 years and older and does not require a right of abode.
Alabama.com reports, “The Department of Public Health in Alabama, like other U.S. state health agencies, is focused on vaccinating residents. But they do not turn back outside the staters and also do not tell others to travel elsewhere for a shot. ‘
Arizona
Arizona will now vaccinate everyone in the state who is 16 years and older and who does not require residency.
According to the director of the Arizona Department of Health Services, dr. Cara Christ, says residents from outside the state, even people from outside the state who are in Arizona, can get the vaccine here. “
California
California will vaccinate all adults 16 years and older, regardless of their place of residence.
Fox KTVU reports: “The distribution of vaccines is based on suitability regardless of the status of immigration or immigration.”
Colorado
Colorado will vaccinate everyone in the state who is 16 years and older and who does not require residency.
The Colorado government website reports: “You do not have to be a U.S. citizen, and you do not have to provide a legal presence to get a COVID-19 vaccine in Colorado.”
Indiana
Indiana is currently vaccinating everyone in the state, regardless of their place of residence.
“The state of Indiana abandoned evidence of residency on April 7, and age is the only remaining obstacle to being vaccinated,” NBC reported.
Iowa
Anyone in Iowa aged 16 or over may receive a vaccination against Covid-19, regardless of place of residence.
A statement from the Iowa Government states: ‘Individuals listed in ACIP and Iowa State Priority Groups can receive COVID-19 vaccines, regardless of where they live (province or state) or where the individual wants to be vaccinated. In addition, receiving the COVID-19 vaccine requires no proof of U.S. citizenship. ”
Louisiana
Louisiana now vaccinates everyone 16 years or older, regardless of their place of residence. The Governor of Louisiana has announced that from March 29, 2021, everyone over the age of 16 will be eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are no residency requirements in Louisiana to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.
Michigan
Vaccinations in Michigan are open to adults 16 years and older with no proof of residence.
WDIO ABC reports: ‘Their health department has said that although they prioritize Michigan residents, no shot is wasted in any arm. Therefore, they will vaccinate students, workers and so on.
Nevada
Nevada will now vaccinate all adults 16 years and older without proof of residence.
Nevada follows the advice of the CDC which states’ to achieve the public health goals of ensuring the health, safety and well-being of all Americans, Nevada should distribute or administer, without discriminating on the basis of non-public health within a preferential group. ”
In short, it means that foreign residents cannot refuse the vaccination solely on the basis of the status of the country or the country.
New mexico
New Mexico now vaccinates all adults 16 or older for Covid-19, regardless of their place of residence.
New Mexico Department of Health officials said they will not verify the city, country or country where they live or the citizenship when they distribute the coronavirus vaccine. New Mexico officials added that they would not share the immigrant status of registrants with the federal government.
Ohio
All adults 16 years and older, regardless of their right of residence, can now receive the Covid-19 vaccine in Ohio.
Ohio does not prohibit providers from immunizing non-residents, and therefore suppliers’ appointments were discussed with residents traveling from other states, including Michigan, Illinois, Western Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
South Carolina
The Covid-19 vaccine is now available to all adults 16 years and older in South Carolina, regardless of where they live.
The SC Department of Health and Environmental Control says “Non-permanent residents living in South Carolina at the time they are eligible to receive the vaccine can be vaccinated here, just like South Carolina living in another state, can receive their vaccine there. Although no proof of residence is currently required to receive the vaccine, it is recommended that you receive both doses from the same vaccine provider. ”
Tennessee
In Tennessee, everyone 16 years or older is eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, including travelers outside the state territory.
According to the Tennessee government, vaccination sites will administer the vaccination outside of state residents.
‘COVID-19 vaccines are a federal source administered locally by states and other partners to ensure the protection of the population against the new coronavirus, with those most at risk of getting vaccinations as a first priority. Each dose of vaccine given helps to prevent a possible hospitalization and a possible death. ‘
Texas
According to the Texas Department of Health Services, as of Monday, March 29, 2021, anyone 16 years and older can now receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Texas.
There is no residency or citizenship requirement in Texas to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. According to Texas Health and Human Services “There is no residency or citizenship requirement to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, and a social security number is not required. ”
Virginia
Virginia is expected to expand the Covid-19 vaccination prescription for anyone 16 years and older on April 18, 2021, regardless of place of residence.
The Virginia government declares: ” A proof of Virginia residency is not required for most places. However, some communities may prefer to restrict vaccination to residents only. ”
The easy way to book a Covid-19 vaccine appointment
- Go to Vaccine Spotter
- Find the state you are in
- Choose ‘Vaccination Type’
- Book an appointment online (Walmart is the easiest)
- Save your email for your appointment showing the locations, date, time and type of vaccination
- Discuss your appointment and bring the recommendation of the vaccine provider
- Receive your written and CDC vaccination card. Then wait 15 minutes in the waiting area before leaving.
- Vaccination complete if it is the one dose Johnson and Johnson.
- For all other vaccines, you should wait 3-4 weeks to receive your second dose.
