FOX Business’ Grady Trimble talks to a manager of one of the few companies that manufacture solar panels in the US
According to the US manufacturer, the US-manufactured solar panels cannot compete with Chinese prices as the demand for green energy increases under the Biden government.
Paul Mutchler, energy director for commercial operations at Mission Solar Energy in San Antonio, Texas, told FOX Business’ Grady Trimble that the company can no longer compete on quality if price can not compete with it. “We need to make sure everything we do here is of a higher standard than anything else,” he said Monday.
COMMANDED CLIMATE ACTIONS AT JOLT ELECTRICITY PRICES
Mutchler’s comments come amid President Biden’s emphasis on green energy, promising to reach a net electricity grid and a net economy by 2050 by 2035.

The president has already signed a wave of executive orders aimed at displacing the U.S. economy from its dependence on fossil fuels toward cleaner, renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), two-thirds of all solar panels in the world are manufactured in China, and Mission Solar Energy is one of the few companies that manufacture panels in the United States.

“Everything we do is here in the United States supporting manufacturing work,” Mutchler said. “We try to make sure everything is made to a very high standard, even though there are a lot of good ones coming from abroad.”
The Texan Mission Solar Energy plant was also challenged by the recent deadly winter storm and is about a week behind with production due to power outages.
