Urban Meyer reveals how he sees the state of Alabama-Ohio play out

We are less than one week away from the national championship game between No.1 Alabama and No.3 Ohio State. Both teams enter the game with a lot of firepower on either side of the ball, and it will be a good one in Miami Gardens, Florida, Monday night.

The Crimson Tide (11-0) had a 31-17 victory in the Rose Bowl semifinals at No. 1. 4 Notre Dame scored. The Buckeyes (7-0) meanwhile beat Clemson no. 2 broken down by 49-28 in a massive upset victory. The two teams meet for the first time since the first College Football Playoff in 2014, where the Scarlet and Gray won.

How will it play out this time? Urban Meyer, the man who coached the Buckeyes during that game, spoke to Joel Klatt about FOX Sports Breaking The Huddle Wednesday night and said he sees Ohio State score some points at this point.

‘I watched a lot of them. I know them very well, “said Meyer. ‘They win the game because of fundamentals, good players, good technique and the work of your tendencies. Clemson was more a ‘we’re going to disrupt you, be everywhere, create a bunch of different looks for you. Alabama is going to stand in line and play. They disguise a little, but not much. So this is going to be a very different game.

‘I think Ohio State is going to score some points. I’ve seen Florida do it, I’ve seen Ole Miss do it and I think the state of Ohio is better than those two teams offensively. ”

Just because Meyer believes the state of Ohio will come under attack does not mean he believes Alabama will not be. The Crimson Tide has had the country’s most explosive unit all season, and it will be a big challenge for the Buckeyes’ defense to stop them.

‘Now, are you talking about Alabama’s offense? I’ve never seen anyone slow it down. You have three – I think – Heisman winners. On their own time, they could have won the Heisman. Of course, you can not win it all this year. It will therefore be a high scoring ladder. ”
