UPS driver fired after racist chase on family porch: report

A driver of a UPS who was caught on video during a racist protest while delivering a package to a Latino family in Milwaukee was reportedly fired.

Hugo Aviles, a police officer, was asleep when he received a notice from his security camera on which the UPS driver made the racist remarks on his porch on December 17, reports The Washington Post.

“Now you do not get f—– nothing, because you are a stupid m ———- who can not read and write and speak the English language,” the driver said according to the survey.

Police officer Shirley Aviles, 45, the mother of the police officer, said she had no doubt that the UPS driver was referring to her 23-year-old son.

“He’s never met my son,” the mother told The Washington Post. ‘He bases it only on the Latin surname. He meant it. He sent it back. It was malicious. ”

UPS announced on Tuesday that it had fired the driver. The company did not disclose the driver’s identity.

His dismissal comes after activists in Milwaukee held a news conference demanding that the company take action.

“There is no place in any community for racism, stupidity or hatred,” a UPS spokesman told NBC News. “It is very serious and we acted immediately and terminated the driver’s service.”
