“A lot of people want the Johnson & Johnson vaccine because it’s one shot,” said Mark Sevco, president of the Children’s Hospital, which is leading UPMC’s mass vaccination efforts.

You must have an appointment and the UPMC staff will administer the vaccine.

“Fast, efficient, reliable,” says Sevco. ‘Just as effective as Moderna and Pfizer in preventing and alleviating hospitalizations and deaths. It is therefore a high-demand vaccine. ”

This clinic is for adults only. Everyone in priority groups 1A, 1B and 1C is own.

“We will vaccinate about 700 individuals per hour,” says Sevco.

Children’s Hospital, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Department of Health in Allegheny County, plans to immunize 12,000 people.

“Six thousand new appointments a day,” says Sevco.

Everyone who is vaccinated should wait 15 minutes in their car and be checked by nurses and volunteers.

‘It’s similar to the vaccine versus the variance. We really need to start with this and get people vaccinated, ‘Sevco said.

The clinic takes place on April 14 and April 15. If you do not get an appointment, you can still register online. This way you can schedule when availability will open on other sites.
