It’s not just you: Instagram and other Facebook apps are down. We see messages pouring in on social media, and the Instagram web app is currently causing a server error. Messages and posts are not loaded in the app. We will keep you informed as we learn more.
Reports on Twitter indicate that this disruption is affecting the Facebook app, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger to varying degrees. #InstagramDown is trending on Twitter, and reports are pouring in that messages about Facebook’s recent uniform messaging system are failing.
Updated 14:14 ET: If you did not know, Facebook’s apps and services are back online. Instagram and WhatsApp are now loading for us. If you experience problems going forward, make sure you come back every few minutes. All the services must function in a jiffy.
