Upcoming Dead By Daylight update will add more graphics updates, HUD refresh and more

Death by daily developer Behavior Interactive shared an update revealing what changes are planned for the game in an upcoming major update.

According to a statement issued by the studio, we can expect updates of six benefits for the multiplayer survival game (Diversion, Fixated, Hex: Undying, Iron Maiden, Open Handed and Second Wind), as well as some overarching changes to the game HUD and UI.

After four years and a tease last year, the developer notes that it feels like the time is right to apply a major overhaul to the game that will bring widespread change for Survivors and Killers.

The major changes to the game’s user interface are designed to make everything a little cleaner and easier to read. A screenshot shown in the update (in the video) gives an explanation of what a player’s screen should look like once the update has been applied.

The newly edited HUD will better indicate what benefits, items, and add-ons you picked up during the session, while also showing the number of generators left to repair, and the condition of other survivors.

If you’re a streamer or want more control over the UI, don’t panic: a scaling option is added to the game that lets you adjust where the HUD sits relative to everything else on the screen.

We’re also going to see a change in the way matchmaking works in the game (no doubt to the delight of more competitive players) and once the developers are happy with the way matchmaking works, he plans to introduce ‘rank rewards’.

‘As the ranks will no longer be used for matchmaking, they will again be used to reward dedicated players. Each month, everyone will get blood points based on the highest rank they have achieved and then be reverted back to rank 20. ”

In addition, we will also see a graphic renovation for the Gideon Meat Plant and the Crotus Prenn Asylum. These new images are teased in the video and later on the game’s blog.

Then a lot comes into play – and there will probably be more to come if this Mid-Chapter update goes down. Hopefully we see something similar to the Silent Hill theme that landed last year.
