As many of the people are already reluctant to be vaccinated due to side effects and reactions, the incident in UP shocked everyone. Three elderly women received shots of rabies instead of the Covid vaccine.
The women Saroj (70), Anarkali (72) and Satyawati (60) became moderately ill after their vaccination in a community health center in Shamli. The women vaccinated against Covid-19, but accidentally visited their OPD instead of the vaccination center on the first floor. The pharmacist there leaves with other work and asks a private person to give shots against rabies. The person fired the shots without any questions and no checks.
One of the women said she was sure the vaccine against rabies was given to her because she felt dizzy after she got home. In addition, she is not asked for her Aadhaar card in the center.
Amid the huge increase in the number of cases of coronavirus every day in the country, the mistakes due to mere negligence in vaccinations are more worrying.
