Unreleased Apex Legends weapon spotted in season 8’s development stream

Apex Legends has a bunch of important changes in season 8: Mayhem as Respawn has updated different characters with new buffs and nerfs to Wraith, Octane, Mirage, and more.

Respawn has been working on the new chapter of Apex for a long time, and it has finally resulted in the new character Fuse, along with a jam-packed Battle Pass for people to move through as we jump into next season.

In addition to the changes implemented to various weapons in the game, the developers have also adapted a large number of characters – eight to be exact – all the details can be found below.

Apex Legends Season 8 character nerf and lovers

Wraith

Wraith has experienced the greatest success during Apex’s entire life, but she does see some changes to her hitbox in Season 8. Respawn takes inspiration from Pathfinder’s season 7 adaptations to balance the character even further.

Wraith’s hit box is now slightly larger than before, but it will still ‘stay true to her model’. She will keep the low profile passive, with most changes regarding the size of the body and leg hit box.

Wraith’s hitbox gets slightly bigger in season 8 around the middle section and legs.

“The fact remains that her winning rate still remains at the very top as it has been since day one,” Respawn wrote. “With the adaptation of the season 7 hit box to Pathfinder, we were able to control its power without weakening its kit. We hope to do the same with Wraith. ”

Rampart

From the best to the worst, Rampart did not fare so well in Apex, according to the devs. The developers will increase Sheila’s range of motion from 120 ° to 180 ° and increase the health of her Amped Cover from 1 health point to 45.

Respawn said they would ‘watch this closely’ because it relates to the reactive power of her wall, but something needs to be done to give Rampart more prominence in the game.

Horizon

Horizon was a strong character in Apex Legends, along with Wraith.

While Wraith has historically been the most popular / desired legend in the game, Horizon debuted at the top right of her in season 7.

Respawn considers it a healthy competition, but gives a slight nervousness to her Gravity Lift which increases the effective cooling from 21s to 25s (15s cooldown timer will now start when the Gravity Lift disappears).

However, the developers do not want to take full advantage of Horizon’s power, so they will monitor how these changes affect its performance in the game.

Octane

The job just got a lot easier for Octane players trying to master the ‘super-jump’ with the Launch Pad, as Respawn changed the mechanics from the ultimate tool to a consistent way of performing the trick.

  • By hitting the jump block from a standing position, players will start along a high arc (the speed and trajectory of the old super jump).
  • From a crouched position, players will jump along a low arc, meaning they will fly lower but further in the horizontal direction.

This gives Apex players a simpler way to eliminate the various jumps, offering the tactical possibilities for everyone, not just those who have practiced a lot with this character.

Byts

As soon as Caustic’s team leaves, she leaves Nox Gas.

A change in the quality of life hit Caustic’s Nox Gas in season 8, now that Respawn is going to clean up any remaining fumes on the battlefield once he’s dead: “All gas now disappears once Caustic’s team is eliminated.”

This means that there will be a new target on Caustic’s back, as it gives teams an active incentive to eliminate him first in a fight.

Crypto

Not much has changed with Crypto this time around, but players can no longer stick bow stars to its Surveillance Drone, denying the bomb delivery service that people have been abusing slightly since it was discovered.

Loba

Loba’s passive ‘Eye for Quality’ and added her Black Market Boutique, can now take a turn in unopened Care Packages. The developers have expanded the High Society Thief’s ability to steal the loot from the Arena with the change, making her a little more valuable to team workers.

Mirage

Mirage’s lure angles will make footsteps sounds in season 8.

Mirage’s decoys will officially have footsteps in Apex Legends. Previously, this change was announced in the Fight Night notes, although the studio conceded that the notice went out early and had to be saved for season 8.

These are the complete changes to the Apex Legends Season 8 update as soon as the patch officially arrives Tuesday 2 February at 10:00 PT / 13:00 ET.
