Hundreds of University of Michigan employees and students falling into the first phase of Phase 1A vaccine group are scheduled to receive their first dose of Pfizer vaccine at Michigan Stadium on Thursday, December 31, Michigan Medicine said in a news release on Wednesday. announced.

The health system has already vaccinated more than 6,000 health workers since the initial shipment of 1,950 doses of vaccine on December 14th. Through the opening of the stadium and other planned venues, Michigan Medicine aims to deliver all vaccine doses received from the state. said.

Currently, Michigan Medicine is only vaccinating the workers and students who fall into the first priority group according to guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The first day of vaccinations at Michigan Stadium, 1201 Main Street, is Thursday, Dec. 31, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
