Nvidia may be preparing to launch a new RTX 3050 Ti GPU, according to a leak from laptop manufacturer Asus. VideoCardz reports that Asus has released updated specifications for its latest TUF Dash F15 laptop, calling it an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop that has not yet been released.
The numbering scheme indicates that Nvidia is about to launch a fourth 30-series laptop GPU to connect to the existing RTX 3060, RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 cards. Asus’ website mentions that the card has 4 GB of memory, but the company did not include any further information on clock speeds. There are rumors that the RTX 3050 Ti is an entry-level option, with a 128-bit memory bus and 60 W TGP.

Nvidia’s launch of RTX 30 series laptop GPUs was also a bit confusing. Nvidia no longer adds “Max-Q” labels to the weaker, more energy-efficient variants of its GPUs for laptops, and it’s harder to say exactly which GPU you’ll get. Nvidia started demanding that laptops be more transparent about RTX 30 series specifications, but the previous Max-Q brand made it much easier to work out the GPU performance of a laptop without knowing the specific clock speeds .
