Umbrella Academy’s new cast includes a telekinetic cube

If you thought the seven Hargreaves brothers and sisters were the only figures in the world of The Umbrella Academy, think again. The upcoming third season touches on the other children with superpower who were born on the same day as the members of the Umbrella Academy.

The second season ends with the Hargreaves brothers and sisters returning to 2019 … only to find themselves in a parallel timeline where their strict father Reginald has adopted another set of superpowered children. Called the Sparrow Academy, are six new faces (and one familiar) with new powers and new actors. Although Netflix looked at the exact capabilities of the new cast, it revealed the actors and their characters.

The Sparrow Academy’s number one, Marcus, is played by Justin Cornwell (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey). Marcus is the charismatic and confident leader of the Mossies, who keep the family together. Justin H. Min repeats his role as Ben, only the Ben of the Sparrow is very different from the Ben of the Umbrella Academy – he is venomous and tactical and also deserves the number two place in Reginald’s rankings.

Britne Oldford (hunters) play number three. Called Fei, she is clever and vaguely misanthropic and sees the ‘world in a special way’. Number Four is Alphonso, played by Jake Epstein (Package), a scar, sarcastic vigilance. Genesis Rodriguez van Great Hero 6 plays Sloane, the fifth Sparrow, a dreamy romantic with a ‘higher cosmic calling’. Cazzie David, daughter of Larry David, meanwhile plays the lone Jayme.

And lastly, the seventh and probably most important member of the Sparrows is played by the newcomer Existential Dread Inducing Psychronium Cube. The name of Christopher, the telekinetic cube can change temperature and cause fear. He is treated like any other sibling and is now my favorite character in the entire series.

In addition to the. new players, Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, Ritu Arya, Adam Godley and Colm Feore will return. There is no set release date for season 3, but filming begins next month.
