Fighting enthusiasts can now watch behind the scenes Conor McGregor’s recent TKO loss to Dustin Poirier, while the promotion released its patented UFC 257: ‘The Thrill and the Agony’ video on Friday.
UFC 257, which aired live on Fight Island’s ESPN + PPV last weekend, was the head of a giant rematch between McGregor and Poirier. The lightweight main event ended early when Poirier slapped ‘Notorious’ via TKO in the second round, but the PPV card was still a crushing success. According to early reports, UFC 257 cleared 1.6 million PPV purchases without any problems.
It was, to say the least, a great success for Poirier. Not only did ‘Diamond’ avenge a previous loss to McGregor, but he did so in front of millions of fans. Poirier also closed out the next shot at the undisputed UFC lightweight title (whenever that may happen). In addition, he achieved the biggest payday of his career and also had McGregor kindly donate $ 500,000 to his Good Fight Foundation.
After the fight, Poirier’s wife, Jolie, searched for McGregor behind the scenes. She was able to gain access to the Irish dressing room to pay tribute to the fight and personally thank ‘Notorious’ for his generous donation to the Good Fight Foundation. The footage can be seen above in UFC 257’s ‘The Thrill and the Agony’ video.
