Uber posts record riders demand in March

Uber Technologies, Inc., said that the demand for drive-faster recovery is faster than the availability of drivers, as Covid-19’s vaccination rates in the US increase.

The company said Monday its gross bookings for March had risen to the highest monthly level in its nearly twelve-year history. Uber’s mobility business, which includes a ride, had its best month since March 2020, he said.

Uber revamped its business during the health crisis, cutting about a quarter of its staff and shutting down businesses, among other things, which saved $ 1 billion in fixed expenses last year.

The company said demand also continues to exceed the availability of couriers for its meal delivery industry. The delivery company, along with cost cuts, helped dampen the pandemic’s hit on Uber’s core operations during the pandemic, and the company showed a smaller annual loss in February.

Uber said it is on track to be profitable this year in quarterly adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization. The company said earlier this month it was spending $ 250 million on bonuses in an effort to boost the manager’s short-term availability.
