U.S. Marshal shot dead in West Baltimore while in custody

A U.S. marshal was shot dead in West Baltimore on Thursday morning while trying to carry out an arrest warrant.

A U.S. SWAT team from the U.S. Marshal tried to arrest the suspect in the 1400 block of Mount Street at 6:15 a.m. when the suspect opened fire.

The Marshals fired back and fatally wounded the suspect, Baltimore police told Fox News.

One officer withdrew himself after he was shot, and was taken to Shock Trauma. His condition is currently unknown.

The incident follows on the heels of President Joe Biden’s condolences to the families of two FBI agents who were killed in Florida on Tuesday. Biden said law enforcement is paying a hell of a price for their service.

“They put their lives on the line and it’s a hell of a price to pay,” Biden of the Oval Office said. “And every day … in general, the vast majority of these men and women are decent, honorable people who put themselves at risk. We owe them.”
