Tyrese Gibson and his wife, Samantha Lee Gibson, said this at their wedding.
The ‘Fast and Furious’ actor shared a joint statement on the rift on his Instagram on Tuesday.
“We have decided to make a statement of a painful and important development in our lives. After much thought, consideration and prayer, we have unfortunately made the difficult decision to officially divorce and divorce,” the joint statement of the couple.
The former couple, who share a daughter, Soraya (2), cut the knot in February 2017. In their statement, the two say they “intend to remain best friends and strong competitors.”

“We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and are deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other. Our journey together was a journey of both ups and downs, but it was a journey that neither of us would prefer to take with someone else.We really have so much love and respect for each other.We have both grown tremendously within this relationship; we have shared so many beautiful memories and moments, and we are also looking forward to seeing the wonderful future that lies ahead of us individually, ”the statement continues.
The statement was shared with a throwback photo of Tyrese kissing Samantha on the cheek during a red carpet event.

The exes also take note of the ‘extremely grueling and challenging’ year 2020 and say they want to retain the energy ‘in 2020 and not want to take this energy in 2021.’
“We will greatly appreciate your sincere prayers and respect our privacy at this time as we deal with the reality of where we are,” the statement concluded.

Tyrese has another daughter named Shayla with his first wife, Norma Gibson, whom he married from 2007 to 2009.
