If you want a new look for your home in the new year, but your wallet is not completely on board, with expensive upgrades, you’re in luck. Home renovation expert Ty Pennington graciously provided a handful of ideas on how to build your space without spending a fortune.
While speaking to the New York Post, Pennington offered this simple but effective home decorating tip: “Some small things have a big impact.”
Pennington, who will host the upcoming HGTV program Ty Breaker, has revealed that it can be just as easy to give your home a fresh look as it is to create a personalized main entrance.
“I like to see everything that says, ‘This is who I am,’ whether it’s hanging dance shoes, whether it’s a cowboy hat on a wall, ‘said the carpenter / designer. “I like to … immediately feel their personality.”
If you feel extra smart, Pennington offers the New York Post an ultra-creative way to make your own pillows.
‘You can also grow old [colorful] blankets and sew it yourself in pillows, ”he said. ‘When you do something yourself, you have the euphoria that you have created something that no one else has; you pulled it off and at that moment you are so proud.
Fans can expect much more expert insight from Pennington when Ty Breaker will be broadcast later this month. The HGTV show is a competitive series of home improvements that Pennington will address against a different designer during each episode.
Ty Breaker will be broadcast on HGTV on Monday 11 January at 21:00 ET.
