Two-time Super Bowl champion C David Andrews returns to Patriots

After six years and two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots, center David Andrews is not going anywhere.

Andrews returns to the Patriots, reports Kim Jones, NFL Network. Andrews will sign a four-year deal, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

At No. 37 in Gregg Rosenthal’s Top 101 free throws of 2021, 29-year-old Andrews was a mainstay on the Patriots offensive front and an uplifting story.

After Andrews missed the entire 2019 season due to blood clotting in his legs, Andrews returned to the Pats in 2020 and despite the team’s work still generally did well.

As the Patriots made headlines this week for bringing new talent into the mix, Andrews’ return is a good predictor. Andrews is a longtime team captain and a locker room leader. Maybe that’s one reason why the Dolphins were interested in him, as reported by Garafolo. Miami is coached by former Pats assistant Brian Flores.

In the end, it looks like Andrews and the Pats are getting what they want, and that’s the return of the center to New England.
