Respawn Entertainment dropped the banks on two of Apex Legends’ players with the highest rankings, after a handful of professional players lodged complaints with the security team.
Despite a constant and endless effort to eradicate fraudsters in Apex, they are all too common even in the highest ranks.
There have been a few names the community has been keeping an eye on for some time, and it seems they have finally been destroyed, thanks again to Respawn’s security chief Conor Ford, or Hideouts.
These players were among the top 10 in the world rankings for Rank mode in Apex Legends, which clearly ruined the experience for other legitimate players.

It does not take long before the community identifies one of the culprits as ‘invulnerable FPS’ – who has played under other pseudonyms in previous seasons.
TSM pro and Halo legend Eric ‘Snip3down’ Wrona was pleased to see that the player they suspected of cheating was finally getting their well-deserved punishment.
LOL turns out @invulnerableFPS Ban again! Absolutely pathetic man, anyone defending these guys who were previously caught will now be dead quiet. I’m sure, now what about the mates ?? Justice has been served!

With the ban, these players are now removed from the rankings, enabling legitimate players to get their right rankings.
Apex Tracker, a website that tracks the top players through an API, confirmed the ban with a Respawn representative and updated the position accordingly.
We are aware of the ban that has just been applied to certain players at the highest level.
A Respawn representative also confirmed directly with us (thanks)
We do not want to name names unless it is a positive mansion; Just let us know that we are aware of the ‘issue’.

While this ban is welcomed and is a positive step, fraud is a problem that remains pervasive at all levels of Apex Legends.
Hideouts are highly praised in the community for their work against hackers, but are only one individual, and players feel that a more effective anti-cheat at system level is needed.
With that said, Apex is still better than its battle royal rival, Warzone, which apparently has absolutely no effective anti-cheat system – a problem that has affected major money tournaments.
