Two different folding iPhone prototypes apparently pass first quality checks

A new report claims that Foxconn’s foldable iPhone test consists of two completely separate designs and that both have passed the compiler’s control check.

Following previous rumors that Foxconn is testing a foldable iPhone, a new report states that it has actually tested two competing designs for Apple. The testing took place at Foxconn’s factory in Shenzhen and it is claimed that it passed with both designs to pass the quality control.

According to Money UDN, tested, were not rounded phones, but rather the caps of these two folding designs with, most likely, screens. The test was specific to determine the durability of the folding mechanism.

It is said that one of the designs looks like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, or the Lenovo Moto RAZR, with an internal phone folding screen with a browse phone. The other is claimed to be a dual screen model, more like an open book like the Samsung Galaxy Fold.

Money UDN speculate that Apple will further evaluate both models and then abandon one.

Apple’s testing of foldable iPhone designs follows both years of rumors and many patent applications on the subject. Previous reports of testing Foxconn have included allegations that Apple will release a folding iPhone in September 2022.

UDN has a good record in terms of Apple’s supply chain. The prediction of Apple’s future product plans is especially worse. Thursday’s report is a hybrid of the two.
