Twitter is introducing a new handle for the very first man of a vice president, as it begins with the transfer of official accounts on social media in the White House to the incoming Biden government.

Tweets from President Trump’s administration, which include controlled handles including @WhiteHouse, @POTUS, @VP, @FLOTUS and @PressSec, must first be archived by the National Archives and Records Administration, which will store the activity of the social media accounts. The history will be publicly available for viewing and will have the number ’45 ‘at the end of each handle, referring to Trump’s tenure as the 45th President of the United States.

Instead, users will receive in-app alerts and other directions notifying them of the archiving process and giving them the option to follow the new administration, the company said.
Twitter will also stream Biden’s inauguration on January 20, allowing users to view footage of various news outlets and official inauguration streams.
The social media business and its rivals, including Facebook and YouTube, came under fire for its use by participants in the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, when supporters of Trump stormed the building. Five people were killed, including a Capitol police officer.
