Twitter has banned Gateway Pundit founder Jim Hoft

Hoft joins a list of other right-wing bills that were recently banned from promoting falsehoods about the 2020 presidential election. The list includes former President Donald Trump and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell.

Twitter’s civil integrity policy states: ‘You may not use Twitter’s services to manipulate or interfere with elections or other civil processes.’ Gateway Pundit promoted untruths about the 2020 presidential election, both on Twitter and directly on its website, claiming voter fraud and voter irregularities. On Biden’s inauguration day, the website’s headline falsely claims that Trump’s election was ‘stolen’.

Hoft shared a post on Saturday night about his ban on the Gateway Pundit website. He pointed to an ‘ongoing investigation by the Detroit TCF Center’, which went on to incite a false narrative of ‘late-night deliveries of tens of thousands of votes’.

“We have a lot more to report on this incident in the next few days,” Hoft said. He shared a screenshot of his Twitter account before it was banned. The tweet read: “Just an FYI – The fake news media and others challenged our video report from the TCF Center on Friday. It was a bad move. We have a lot more!”

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden was inaugurated on January 20th. There is no evidence that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump, and the Trump administration and election officials called the 2020 presidential election the “safest” election in U.S. history. President Joe Biden won the popular vote with more than 7 million votes and he won the Electoral College 306 to 232.

Gateway Pundit has been sharing false information since its inception. The far-right website posted a document in 2018 highlighting false allegations of sexual assault against Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

But just hours after the document was posted on the site, journalists and self-proclaimed Internet peacemakers linked the document to Surefire Intelligence, a firm linked to far-right Internet personality Jacob Wohl. Hoft removed the document from the website and published an editor’s letter in its place.

Gateway Pundit was also one of many accused in Dominion defamation law. The list also includes the Trump campaign, Rudy Giuliani, Trump adviser Sidney Powell, the conservative media division One America News Network, the right-wing website Gateway Pundit, and the Colorado businessman and activist, including Joseph Oltmann.
