Twitter explores ‘undeliver’ feature for paying users

(Reuters) – Twitter Inc. is testing a “undo-send” feature that gives users a short time to pull back a tweet before posting, the company confirmed Friday.

App researcher Jane Manchun Wong, who discovered unannounced social media features by looking at the site’s code, tweeted an animation showing a spelling with a spelling error in which an ‘undo’ button was available before a short timer on wash.

A Twitter spokesman said the feature was being tested as part of an investigation into how the subscriptions could work on the platform. She said that over time, Twitter will test and repeat the possible paid features.

Twitter said it is working on paid subscriber models, which will reduce its reliance on advertising revenue, including a ‘super follow’ feature to get users to pay their followers for access to exclusive content launched this year.

CEO Jack Dorsey had earlier said the site would probably never have an “edit button”, a feature users have been looking for for a long time.

But Twitter has introduced more comments as users post tweets, such as asking them if they want to read an article before sharing it, and experimenting with allowing people to review a tweet response before publishing it if it is harmful language use.

Last year, the company reportedly included a possible ‘undo-send’ feature in a user survey asking what features people want through a subscription model.
