The market for smart lights is almost silent, but there are key players whose products dominate their niche. If you’re looking for smart lighting strips, you’ll probably have a Philips Hue product, and people hoping for decorative wall pieces tend to like Twitch and YouTube popular Nanoleaf lights. But Twinkly (of clever Christmas body fame) has just released its own spatial version of both.
If you are not familiar, Twinkly is (among other things) known for its string lights. The company has a unique twist to the formula, as the lamps can be mapped by an app, allowing you to apply patterns without worrying about how you set them up or install them. This is pretty damn cool:

Today, Twinkly announces three new products: Twinkly Line Smart LED Strips, Twinkly Flex LED Tube and Twinkly Squares Smart LED Panels, all benefiting from this technology as well.
Twinkly Line
Twinkly Line is a set of smart LED strip lights available in two options: a 100 RGB LED strip and an extension strip available in similar 100 LED increments, all individually liable for animations and effects via the Twinkly app.
The availability of the Twinkly Line was determined on Q2 2021, but prices were not announced.
Twinkly Flex
Twinkly Flex is a “tube” light that can be bent and twisted to fit where you need it – or omitted as a striking accent. Each tube contains 200 RGB LEDs that can be mapped to the real worlds via the Twinkly app.
The Twinkly Flex is available in Q2 2021, with the price of TBD.
Twinkly Squares
The new Twinkly Squares has sights aimed directly (ha) at Nanoleaf. These are not fine geometric shapes per se, but just large square panels with 64 RGB pixels in an 8×8 configuration, sold in bundles of 9 or 16 panels. This is much more potential than just a single color per panel.
As with other Twinkly products, each of the pixels can be mapped individually, allowing you to display intricate and changing patterns with the Twinkly app – one step closer to my dream of an entire wall covered in Conway’s Game of Life is.
Unlike the other two products in today’s range, Twinkly Squares will only be available in the fourth quarter of 2021, so wait a minute. If you haven’t noticed the pattern yet, Twinkly hasn’t announced prices for this one either.
All of Twinkly’s products support Razer Chroma with Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa integration, and (as repeatedly noted above), they all work with Twinkly’s app, which lets you map the position of each LED and apply fun effects, which they give a decent leg up over the competition. – although you can not buy these new lights yet.
Twinkly announces the Twinkly Home Range at CES 2021

Twinkly Line is LED strip lighting for the connected home. The product group consists of a 100-pixel RGB LED strip and a 100-pixel RGB LED strip extension. Twinkly Line offers users the creative ability to create custom ambient lighting throughout their home and outdoor living spaces.Twinkly Line will be available in Q2 2021.
Twinkly Flex
Twinkly Flex is an LED tube lighting that unleashes new levels of creativity in a connected home. The product group consists of an RGB LED tube of 200 pixels, which can be used in unlimited ways. Twinkly Flex offers users the creative ability to create custom holiday / event decorations, game decorations and more.Twinkly Flex will be available in Q2 2021.
Twinkly Squares
Twinkly Squares are smart LED panels for the connected home. The product group consists of a 64-pixel RGB LED panel, available in bundles of 9 or 16 panels. Twinkly Squares is a revolutionary product that combines the power of an LED wall with the style of interior decoration. This system can be combined with other products to generate incredible experiences, from DJ set lighting to immersive game consoles.Twinkly Squares will be available in Q4 2021.
Twinkly will also include Twinkly Music and its Razer Chroma RGB partnership during CES 2021.
