Frozen windmills are only a very minor factor in the power outages in Texas that occurred due to the polar vortex, a fact that was made public Tuesday but did not prevent Tucker Carlson from doubling his false and misleading allegations. the wind pumps that freeze for the eclipses.
‘So, Texas – a large, durable, well-run place in general – is another disaster tonight. Many people without power. The Texas Public Utility Commission says the state had very little margin of error in its energy grid. Yes. That seems to be quite right. The commission described the situation as very narrow. “Now we know exactly why the margin of error was so tight: green energy,” Tucker falsely said.
‘Because politicians benefited from it, wind turbines ran and produced about a quarter of Texas’ power. It got cold last night, and the windmills froze, and millions of Texans froze as a result. Several were killed. ”

In fact, in contrast to the false reality that Tucker creates for his viewers, the vast majority of the blame for frozen instruments lies with more traditional power generation facilities – coal, natural gas and nuclear, according to Texas officials who actually know about these things. According to them, there are only 13% of the interruptions of the 30-35 gigawatt downtime.
Wind power will normally account for 25% of the total power load in Texas during the winter, so the wind pumps hold up excessively well compared to more traditional energy sources.
Daniel Cohan, professor of environmental engineering at Rice University, told Bloomberg: “The performance of wind and solar power is far less than the smallest factors in the disaster we face.”
Tucker, however, was not worried about it.

“It seems to me again from an outsider’s perspective that we have allowed insane ideologues who know nothing about science or engineering to have a lot of control over our power network,” Tucker later reflected in the segment.
During this segment, Tucker spoke with Mike Taylor of oil and gas supplier Combined Energy Services in New York. Tucker tried to get Taylor to back up his rhetoric from the windmill, but it did not work.
‘It would seem that the whole point of creating so-called green energy is because you think the weather is volatile, you might have taken that into account in your decision. It seems, from a civilian point of view, that it is reckless to set aside 25% of your power network for windmills. Do you think it is? ‘Ask Tucker.
And Taylor simply replies, “Well, Tucker, I do not know enough about windmills.”
Tucker started this very episode with a long cover story about the news media lying to viewers, without even having a bit of irony.
“Imagine it’s your job to lie,” Tucker said quite seriously. “Imagine forcing yourself all day to tell lies about everything in ways that were so transparent and so strange that people could not believe you what you were saying. Imagine doing this again and again every day of your professional life for the rest of your life. ”
