Google just announced Android 12 this week, and with it, several new features that enhance the software that empowers you Android phone. Android 12’s primary mission is to improve the overall performance of your phone, focusing on app stability and redesigned notifications.

Google has also included some new privacy features, which allow Android users to determine how they are tracked on different sites.

If you now want to get the latest software from Google on your phone, there is good news and bad news. The bad news is that this is the very first example of developers. This means that it will be full of errors, problems and poor battery performance. Google has made it difficult for the average user specifically to install these reasons.

The good news is that if you have enough technology and do not mind living with a few bugs, you can install it today, as long as you have a cell phone.

The developer beta is for developers

I can not stress this enough: the first beta is that developers need to update their programs for the new software. Google recommends that the update be installed on a test device and not on your daily phone, as there is no guarantee that the preview is stable enough for daily use.

Instead of presenting the first preview via an on-the-air update, you should download and install the system image using the Android Flash Tool, or an OTA update with ADB commands sideload. If none of this makes sense to you, you should definitely not install the beta installation. Currently, the beta is only available for the Pixel 3, 3a, 4, 4a and Pixel 5.

In addition to using command line tools to install it, the phone will reset your phone to the factory, and you will then need to set it up as if it were new. Then, guess what if you decide you want to go back to Android 11? Yup, you have to factory reset it.

It’s a lot of work to just look at software early on that will definitely give you problems.

If you still want to install Android 12, you can find the right files and instructions on Google’s Android 12 site.

Yes, the Android 12 public beta is coming

Google will usually launch a public beta of the next Android update around May, or if it has held the Google I / O Developer Conference. But we can go a step further and limit the time when Google plans to introduce a more refined version of Android 12 to the public. Here’s the release schedule that Google plans to use:

Based on that, we know that the first public beta would start sometime in May.

With the launch of Android 11 last year, Google has expanded the public beta to more than just its own Pixel range of smartphones. It seemed to be successful for Google and its hardware partners, so we would expect a similar launch this year. However, Samsung phone owners can make no promises. The smartphone maker has never participated in Google’s early beta program.

In addition to supporting more devices, the public beta usually has fewer bugs and issues. It’s not completely free of them, but it’s better than the early developer touches.

The final version of Android 12 will only take place later this year

Google usually releases the final version of a major Android update late in the third quarter, around August or September. This gives the company and developers enough time to be ready for the launch.

If you want to participate in the Android 12 beta yourself, I suggest you wait as long as possible to install it. The later you get into the development cycle, the finer the update will be and the fewer problems you will experience.

We will have many more Android 12 coverage in the coming days, weeks and months. Read all about Android 12 so far.
