Trump will award Patriots coach Medal of Freedom

President Trump plans to award New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick the Medal of Freedom this week in an effort to return to normal after the riots in the U.S. Capitol and is asking for his second indictment, according to a report Sunday.

With just a few more days in the Oval Office, Trump will make a presidential power at the drop of a hat by honoring the Super Bowl brain – and other longtime supporters – with the highest civilian honor, according to Politico.com

Trump also plans to give Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) to award the award Monday – the same day that the Democrats are expected to file articles of indictment against him.

On Tuesday, Trump visited a section of the U.S. border wall in Alamo, Texas, less than a week after five people were killed during the right-wing siege at the U.S. Capitol.

And on Thursday, he will give Belichick the presidential medal of freedom, which has historically honored people for ‘security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other important public or private efforts’.

The events have been going on for a long time, a Trump assistant at the outlet said.

In 2016, Trump boasted that Belichick wrote him a letter congratulating him on a tremendous campaign. ‘

A Patriots representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Politico.
