Former Donald Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale is building a technology platform that the former president is watching for his newly announced social media service, according to Republicans close to the former president.

Parscale, who was famously detained by Florida police last October after his wife said he was drunk and suicidal, has been working on his project for the past few months, saying three Republicans close to Trump are familiar with the plans.

“It’s not just creating an app, it’s actually creating the whole of the platform,” said one Republican familiar with Parscale’s efforts.

Trump advisers regularly clashed during the presidential re-election over the role of Parscale in the campaign. But even opponents still praised his digital media and technology skills, including an extensive campaign app he built for the 2020 White House series.

Parscale used the same model to develop its new platform, to which two Republicans close to the former president said they expected Trump to trust his regularly-reckoned new social media operation.

But another Republican close to the president said he doubted Trump would use Parscale’s platform. ‘I’m not sure about the [social media] plan, but I’m pretty sure it does not involve Brad, ”the GOP source said.

From Twitter Trump to Trump Twitter

Trump and his senior adviser, Jason Miller, teased the idea of a new Trump media platform in response to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media banning him from their services.

The former president’s list of misinformation and role in the January 6 attack on the Capitol forced social media companies to ban Trump during his last days in the White House.

“If you look at what’s happened lately, we’re sending out (press) reports, they’ll be picked up a lot better than any tweet,” Trump said in a podcast with Republican veteran and Fox news commentator Lisa Boothe released Monday.

“I’m doing things that have to do with posting our own platform that you’ll hear soon,” Trump added.

The new Trump social media platform could be up and running within the next two to three months, Miller told Fox News on Sunday.

Behind the scenes, Parscale is building a new political campaign program called ‘Nucleus’, which the former president is already using to blow out his tweet emails. Trump has seen the new emails more elegantly than his earlier tweets in his interview with Boothe.

Once ‘Nucleus’ is complete, Parscale plans to field more Republican politicians, according to a Republican familiar with his plans.

It’s not immediately clear whether Trump or Miller referred to Parscale’s ongoing effort, or whether they intend to find another firm or developer to create a new social media platform using Parscale’s infrastructure. .

Insider first reported on Parscale’s return to Trump’s job last month after a few months as an outcast after his ouster in July as Trump’s campaign manager.

Trump raged in Parscale during 2020, blaming his then-campaign manager for the downfall of public support amid the COVID-19 pandemic and also accusing him of spending his campaign money incorrectly.

When Insider was reached Monday, Parscale declined to say whether Trump would use his platform. Miller did not respond to a request for comment Monday.

To find Trump a viable platform

Trump advisers say the former president’s ban on Twitter was good for rebuilding his image and keeping him focused as well.

But in public, Trump’s team has cited the ban as the best examples of liberals driving a ‘cancellation culture’ across the country. Republicans and conservatives have broadly accused tech companies from Amazon to Google of conspiring with Democrats to stifle their message.

The big tech companies, and others, have regularly noted that demonstrable lies by Trump and others – including the false claim that Trump won the 2020 election – have inspired hundreds of Trump supporters to storm the Capitol in a failed but violent attempt to overthrow the election. results.

Trump considered whether he wanted to be re-elected president in 2024, and has since acted as party king.

But if he wants to run again, he will have to recreate his previously productive Twitter presence, former Trump confidant Roger Stone told Insider last month.

“You have to solve the censorship problem for mass communication before any Republican candidate is viable in the congressional elections or 2022 or the presidential race in 2024,” Stone said.
