Shortly after he was permanently banned from Twitter late on Friday, President Trump used the official @POTUS account to talk about the social media giant that apparently accompanies the “radical left” around him and the “patriots” who support him , to silence. The tweets were removed almost immediately by Twitter, which announced just hours earlier that the president’s personal account had been “permanently suspended” and warned that any attempt by him to evade the government account ban would lead to further suspensions. An attempt to use the @TeamTrump account to respond to his followers was also swapped, with the account suspended almost immediately. While Trump started off the platform because he repeatedly used inflammatory rhetoric to arouse his supporters–even after his supporters started the violent Capitol riot that left five dead –his tweets now deleted from the @POTUS account have largely continued in that vein. ‘We will not be silent! “Twitter is not about FREE SPEECH,” he wrote. Unfortunately for him, Twitter was not the only one to take a stand against infectious content on Friday. Google Play has also suspended Parler, a hotspot for MAGA zealots who have left or banned Twitter. Apple apparently also gave Parler an ultimatum to moderate its content or remove it from the App Store.
