Trump supporters, protesters clash in San Diego

Supporters of President Donald Trump clashed with protesters in San Diego on Saturday, asking police to declare the rally an illegal rally due to violence.

Officers were hit with stones, bottles and eggs, police said and the crowd sprayed pepper spray on them.

KSWB-TV tweeted a video of counter-protesters, most of whom dressed in black and waved an antifa flag, threw a folding chair and spray-painted a chemical irritation on a smaller group of people marching on participate in the Pacific Beach promenade.

According to the station, members of both groups threw objects at each other in other cases.

The police sent dozens of officers in unruly equipment to separate the two groups. Police have asked residents to stay away from the area and warned that those who refuse to disperse could be quoted or arrested.
