Some Trump supporters thought so on Friday after the Roses Parade tournament – a long-standing tradition in Southern California that kicks off every year – was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
At least 600 vehicles took part in the event along the regular Rose Parade route. Many vehicles carried American flags from their windows or from the beds of pickup trucks – and drivers blew their horns as they drove down Colorado Boulevard.
‘Trump 2020’ flags and patriotic ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ banners have also been seen in videos posted on social media.

One video showed a Trump critic teasing the president’s supporters from his position on the sidewalk.

“Pull up your mask!” a Trump supporter responded and saw the heckler wearing his face mask on his chin.
Ahead of the temporary parade, a group called Trump Unity Bridge said they planned the event to “dissolve” the Rose Parade and hold a “Patriots Rose Parade,” reports FOX 11 of Los Angeles.
Colorado Boulevard is home to many businesses that have been hit hard by California government coronavirus-related restrictions, Gavin Newsom reports, FOX 11 reports.

Other parts of Southern California were also very dissatisfied with the leadership by Newsom, a former mayor of San Francisco.
