President Biden said on Sunday that he plans to travel to the southern border “at some point” and tell reporters that he is not in a hurry to visit because “I know what’s going on in the facilities.”
Biden’s immigration agenda includes a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented immigrants, but the president last week called on migrants planning to leave for the United States to continue for the time being.

When asked Sunday why his warning did not actually affect the chaos at the border, Biden acknowledged that his government could increase efforts to send its recent messages to migrants en route to the US.
The customs and border protection facilities were very out of order amid a worrying boom in border crossings. The agency announced that it had encountered more than 100,000 migrants at the border in February, while the number of child migrants in detention also increased dramatically.
The Biden government has moved to increase the capacity of facilities for migrants, and to build a number of additional facilities – including the exploration of NASA sites and military bases.
Republicans blamed Biden for the boom after he reversed a number of Trump-era immigration restrictions he considered inhuman, including ending the “Stay-in-Mexico” policy and restoring “capture and -release”.
Former President Donald Trump on Sunday issued a statement in response to Biden’s remarks, blaming his successor for turning a “national triumph into a national disaster” in dealing with the crisis.

Trump addressed the “pathetic, idea of action” of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, writing that “Even some of Mayorkas’ limited abilities need to understand that if you catch-and-release to the world’s offer illegal aliens, then the whole world will come. “
