Former President Trump was ‘furious’ and ‘angry’ about showing off his defense team on Day One of his second indictment, despite his eventual acquittal almost certainly, two sources told Fox News late Tuesday.

The sources, who have spent time with Trump, said he was particularly upset about the attempt so far by his attorney Bruce Castor. Trump believes Castor made a shaky starting argument, they said. Castor’s 45-minute opening speech was widely publicized on social media after praising the House executives for accusations for a job well done.
“The American people just talked and they just changed administration,” Castor said at one point. He said the public is smart enough to “choose a new administration if they don’t like the old one, and just did it.”
Castor’s comments prompted the Associated Press to headline: “Trump never admitted he lost, but his prosecutor did.”
Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said Jamie Raskin, the head of the indictment, is impressive and a serious advocate. “He said Trump’s team did not have the” most effective “performance.
Trump watched the proceedings from his neighborhood in Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla. The AP, citing an unnamed source, said Trump was impressed with Democrats’ opening video presentation. Trump’s team did not immediately respond to an email from Fox News.

Castor defended his actions in an interview after learning that Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., Was moving to the side of the Democrats, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“You put 100 people in the same room, you will get 100 different opinions. We only lost one … so I believe we had a good day,” he said. Castor made it clear that his “well done” statement was not an acknowledgment that the Democrats’ case was more effective.
Cassidy said that anyone who listened to Trump’s team ‘saw that they were not focused, they tried to avoid the issue. And they talked about everything but the issue at hand. ‘
The Journal pointed out that Trump’s legal team had very little time to prepare for the trial.

The 50-50 Senate has begun another trial that, according to many Republicans, will serve no other purpose than to provoke separation in the country. They say the Democrats want nothing more than to gain political points with the trial and get one last separation shot against Trump.
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Forced a vote a few days ago to set aside the trial as unconstitutional because Trump is no longer in office, attracting 44 other Republicans to his speech. Paul’s measure suggested that the fact that it is impossible to reach a conviction in a Senate where Democrats have 50 seats, but that a two-thirds vote – or 67 senators – is needed to convict Trump.
David Schoen, another attorney for Trump, told Hannity on Tuesday that he thinks the trial is a very painful process to endure in the country. He said that a well-edited video could have a “great entertainment value”, but that it would not promote any cause in the country.

“It’s common sense,” he said. “No one thinks of using the indictment process for anything other than removing a civil servant from office.”
