Former United States President Donald Trump has called Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell a “bitch’s son” during a donor party in Mar-a-Lago on Saturday.
Trump deviated from his prepared remarks when deciding on the Kentucky legislature, Reuters reported, referring to a contestant at the Republican National Committee dinner in Palm Beach, Florida.
Vice President Mike Pence was also a target in the anger of the former president.
Trump said he recently told Pence that he was still disappointed that he had not intervened to stop the certification of President Biden’s election victory – something the VP does not have the power to do.
Supporters of Pro-Trump stormed the US capital on January 6 in an attempt to stop the certification.
Trump spoke to hundreds of top donors on Saturday, ruling out that he wanted to seek another term in 2024, but said any talks about him would likely continue until after the November 2022 midterm elections.
Representatives of McConnell and Pence did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.
