One of Donald Trump’s lawyers reportedly said he was ‘going to Disney World’ after the Senate acquitted the former president after an indictment over the siege of the Capitol.

Trump was acquitted on Saturday after a controversial trial over the deadly siege of the Capitol on January 6, the second time he was charged, and his second acquittal.

57 senators voted to convict the former president on a charge of inciting insurgency in connection with the siege, while 43 voted to acquit. The U.S. Senate needed a two-thirds majority to convict the former president, but it did not succeed and made clear Trump’s way of being re-elected in the future.

Trump’s legal team was understandably delighted with the result – although more senators voted to convict the former president than they voted to acquit him – with members watching each other embrace, smile and punch after the acquittal was confirmed.

“He had a good day in court today. He was executed. He was found not guilty. The political witch hunt they had that the Democrats threw at him has been defeated, so he should feel very satisfied,” Van said. der Veen said. according to CNN.

According to USA Today reporter Christal Hayes, As he climbed aboard the Capitol’s internal subway system after the trial, van der Veen was heard saying to his fellow members of the Trump legal team, “We’re going to Disney World!”

Van der Veen’s remark about the trip to Disney World was probably a reference to a statement made regularly by Super-award-winning backs, who regularly visit the theme park in Florida in the days after they won the biggest prize in football.

Whether the Trump legal team actually intends to visit Disney World remains to be seen. If they do, they will find a very altered park before the days before the pandemic, with mandatory mask wear, many attractions and social distance.
